Condolence From: Sandra Douglas Dannaway
Condolence: I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Larry and Mike, I remember with great affection both your mom and your dad. They were both so good to us when we were in high school. I was glad when my school friend, Joyce, married into that sweet family. I will always remember your mom in the office and how good she was to all of us. Sandra

Condolence: Elizabeth Nix was such a beautiful southern lady. Certainly one her family should be proud of. She was also a onother Mom to the boys on Starkville Acdemeys football team when Coach Nix was there. After practice, she would sometimes surprise the team with lemon aid and cookies. Believe me, they all still remember.

Condolence: It was one of the great blessings of my teaching career to have taught for Jack Nix at Starkville High and to know Mrs. Nix. I know of no individuals who served a commuinity with more grace and dignity during some of the first and most tense years of school integration. Elizabeth may have been the inconspicuous glue that held us all together. I admired her.
