Condolence: Vicki,

I was so sorry to hear about Randy. When I was working in Wildlife & Fisheries, Randy was in grad school and it was always a pleasure to get to visit with him.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and if there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to call on me.

Condolence: Mrs. Warren,

I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. If I had not been traveling for a family reunion, I would have been at the visitation for your husband. I did not have the privilege of knowing him but wish that I had. From the writeup in the paper, I know he was a special man.

It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, no matter what the circumstances. Perhaps it helps a bit to know that you and your son are in my prayers and thoughts. May God comfort you and give you strength.

Nancy

Condolence From: Ray Kagel
Condolence: My deepest condolences to Randy's family from Idaho. I was a graduate student at MSU while Randy was working for Dr. George Hurst and Randy helped me on many occasions with my plant collections for Dr. Arner and for Dr. Perkins. I was Dr. Jacobson's grad student from 1980 to 1984 and after finishing, I moved to Montana and finally settled in nearby Idaho. Since I made my career and home in the Rocky Mountains, I never had a chance to re-connect with Randy, but please note that his name and wonderful reputation as a GREAT plant taxonomist has been shared by me with many fellow biologists in the west. He was a terrific person and I already miss him dearly.
