Obituary for Opaline Adams "Opal" Malone

Mrs. Opaline Adams Malone, 81, of Sturgis, MS passed away at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville on Thursday, October 30, 2014.

Opal loved the Lord. She was a loving mother, and grandmother. She also loved her dogs, was a good cook and loved to make pies, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was a good listener and always there if anyone needed her. She loved her friends especially Mut Gillis and Jimmy Swaggert.

She was born in Columbus, MS on March 13, 1933.

Opal is survived by her Daughter Bonnie Butner of Sturgis, MS; son, Tom Malone of Starkville, MS; 3 grandchildren, Bridgette Patrick and her husband Robert, Brittany Dickerson and her husband Scott, and Thomas Malone; 4 great grandchildren, Zack Julian, Waya Hartfield, Emma Lynn Watson, Hunter Charles Patrick and sister, JoAnn Ingram.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Malone and her parents, Joseph Quincy Adams and Virgie Strawbridge.

Visitiation for Opal will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 5491 Craig Springs Rd., Sturgis, MS 39769.
