Eleanor Moulder Moak of Starkville, Mississippi went to her heavenly home on January 23, 2015 at 92 years of age. She was born on June 27, 1922. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Dr. James E. Moak.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rapp and Lilla Moulder, sisters Raba Wardell, Myra Norsworthy, and Ouida Russell; brothers L.R. Moulder, and John Dan Moulder. She is survived by her sister Jean Turner of Clinton, MS.

A native of Lemon, MS, Eleanor graduated from Burns High School and began working at the GE plant in Jackson, MS. She married James in 1943. Being completely devoted to her husband she made a home everywhere that his Air Force, schooling, and teaching career took them. She was truly a “Proverbs 31” Woman; a master seamstress, wonderful cook, and diligent homemaker.

Eleanor never received a college degree, but certainly helped many, many, family and friends receive theirs at MSU. She fed, housed, clothed, and counseled all with her generous and gracious spirit. She became the building block of numerous lives with her solid faith and love for Christ.

First Baptist Church, Starkville was her home of worship and service for 63 years. She modeled the true sacrifice and love of faithful, dedicated Christian servanthood.
She was Superintendent of Sunday School for the Junior Department and Director of the 4th grade Vacation Bible School for many years. Her love for children led her to rocking babies in the church nursery and working as the manager of the Sudduth Elementary School Cafeteria. She was a charter organizer of the MSU International House and an active member of the Gideon Women’s Organization, Joyful Noisemakers, Hospital Auxiliary, and the Women’s Missionary Union.

Jimmy Moak (Amy), Laura Moak Aiken (Marc), Nancy Moak Fultz (Andy) were blessed to call her Mama. Susan Moak Stringer (Kevin), Molly Moak, Alan Aiken, Emily Aiken Anderson (Brett), and Drew Fultz were equally blessed to call her Granny. Julia Elizabeth Stringer brought her the ultimate joy that only a great granddaughter could!

With Much love and gratitude to her precious caregivers, Rita Townsel, Aretha Jordan, and Annie Madison, also her dear friends Dot Edwards and Geneva Nelson. They all truly loved her and blessed her life.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Starkville, Miss. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, with funeral service immediately following. Graveside service will be held at Memorial Garden Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children’s Building Fund at First Baptist Church, 106 East Lampkin Street, Starkville, MS 39759.
