Condolence: Caroline, Bill and Jamie - What a great picture of Dr. Hill! It captures his personality perfectly, and is a wonderful reminder to me of someone who was an important part of my life. As I reminded Caroline and Jamie recently, he (and Bill)were the reasons I ended up in civil engineering when I had no idea of what I wanted to do. And here I am today! I don't blame you guys at all. :) I am reaching out to you here because I am flying out of Birmingham early Thursday morning and will be unable to attend the visitation Wednesday afternoon. But you all still hold a special place in my heart, and I mourn your loss with you. The good news is that I'm sure Dr. Hill is not mourning, and will be celebrating in a much better place. Condolence: Dr. Hill was my major professor, mentor, colleague and trusted friend. I had the pleasure of working with him on numerous projects over 25 years. He was a consummate professional and a true southern gentleman. His Christian values were an overwhelming influence in every aspect of his life. He will be missed. May our Lord comfort the family with His abundant grace and peace.
