Mr. Floyd R.(Doc) Sides, 93, Starkville, MS passed away at OCH Regional Medical Center on Saturday, March 21, 2015 surrounded by his family.

He was a member of Adaton Baptist Church and a retired truck driver with Mississippi State Receiving Department.

Mr. Sides is survived by his daughter, Linda Barksdale (Ken) of Starkville, MS; 2 grandchildren, Lori Yeatman (Mark) and Ken Barksdale, Jr. (Emily); 5 great grandchildren, Sadie Barksdale, Stella Barksdale, Sailor Rae Barksdale, Jacob Yeatman, and Alex Baxter; sister, Orene Hester of Eupora, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Avis Files Sides; his parents, Oscar Sides and Willie Maude Sides Jones; his sister, Ethel Roberson, his brothers, Eugene Sides, William Sides and David Jones

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. The funeral will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Mark Yeatman and Larry Halford. Burial will follow in McClelland Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
