Mary Hellen Massey Delivorias, 72, passed away on April 12, 2015 at her residence in Starkville, MS. She was an honor graduate of Philadelphia High School and a former Miss Neshoba County, Miss Philadelpia and Miss Hospitality. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mississippi State College for Women. While at MSCW, she was a member of the MSCW modeling squad and historian of Beta Beta Beta National Biological Society. She then went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Parasitology from Tulane University, New Orleans, La. She then was employed in the Department of Parasitology, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Tulane Medical School as a faculty research associate. She retired from Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University as a Research Program Manager. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Faucette N. Massey and Ella T. Watkins Massey.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Delivorias of Starkville, MS; sons, Justin R. Johnson of DeKalb, MS and Bradley Delivorias (Amy) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and two grandsons, Philip and Barron Delivorias.

Visitation for Mary Hellen is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Bob Whiteside will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
