Sherre Hudspeth Denson, 60, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Austin, TX.

Sherre was born October 9, 1954 in Louisville, MS. In her early life, Sherre moved throughout Mississippi and Louisiana with fond memories of Pickens, Bay Springs and Lafayette, LA. in particular. She also often reminisced about her family visits to Sturgis and Louisville.

Sherre finally settled in Starkville with her two girls, and it was a perfect match with its proximity to her family and given her love of all things Mississippi State and maroon. Before retiring, Sherre had a gratifying career on campus for nearly 25 years-primarily as business manager for the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering.

Sherre is survived by her father, Pat Hudspeth of West Point, MS; her two daughters, Cary Denson of Boston, MA and Leslie Denson of Austin, TX; as well as two aunts, Sybil Lowe of Luray, VA and Sally Jackson of Sturgis, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother Joyce Jackson Hudspeth.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Starkville, MS. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Whiteside.
