Obituary for Jean Christopher Geiger

Jean Christopher Geiger
1-29-25 - 5-31-15
A native and longtime resident of Starkville, MS, Jean went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a lengthy illness in Natchez, MS. Arrangements are being handled by Welch Funeral home in Starkville. Rev. Jason Middleton will be officiating at the graveside service at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Robert Austin and Opal Quinn Christopher; her son, William Austin Geiger; and an infant daughter. Jean is survived by her husband of 70 years, William Albert Geiger; her daughter, Fran Geiger Nolan and husband Wilton “Wil” of Natchez; granddaughter, Kristyn Noelle Nolan of Gulfport; and sister, Doris Etheridge of Starkville.
Jean loved her Savior, family, and friends. She was a sweet, loving, gentle, kind, gracious, and compassionate person. Usually she had an infectious smile, but children lit her up like a Christmas tree. She was always very active in Southern Baptist Churches where she lived and was especially involved with the Women’s Missionary Union. She was interested in missions, prayed for missionaries, and supported them.
Jean was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Nile and The Eastern Star.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, The Baptist Children’s Village, Gideons International, or charity of choice. The family expresses appreciation to caregivers Mary Murray and Mamie West.
