Obituary for Karel Cole (Kendall)

Karel Kendall Cole, 67, died July 25, 2015 at the Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi from complications of Multiple Sclerosis after a 25 year battle with the disease. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, February 26, 1948 to the late Margaret Burt Kendall and the late Clarence Ray Kendall. In addition, she was preceded in death by brothers David Ray Kendall and Joel Reed Kendall.
She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and after receiving a Master of Library Science degree from Louisiana State University worked for the Savannah/Chatham County Georgia Library System.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Edward Guy Cole and a son, Kendall Duke Cole, both of Starkville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday July 29, at the Welch Funeral Home in Starkville from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday Aug. 3 at 11:00AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating.
The family wishes to acknowledge the faithful and caring service of Jean Hunter, Bernice Logan, Waneppe Halsey, April Hunter, Yoalanda Doss and Elizabeth Doss, as well as Mary Louise McDowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society, PO Box 297, Starkville MS 39760, the Well Spouse Association 63 West Main St, Suite H, Freehold, NJ 07728 or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Welch Funeral Home in Starkville and McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan.
