Monty Clayton Montfort (1948 – 2015)

Monty Clayton Montfort, 67, of Starkville passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at home after a brief bout with cancer. Clayton was retired and lived on the family tree farm.

Clayton was predeceased by his parents; Woodson Wren Montfort, Jr. and Blanche and Frank Crampton.
Survivors are his wife; Donna Weaver Montfort, children; Monty (Jamey) Morrow, Joseph (Brandy) Montfort & Wren Montfort and seven grandchildren; Noah Morrow, Elijah Morrow, Woodson Morrow, Isabella Morrow, MacKenzie Montfort, Brianna Montfort & Hayes Montfort; his brother Frank (Janis) Montfort and niece, Lindsay Oman.

Clayton will be remembered as a modest, quiet man, who dearly loved his family, the family farm and wood carving. He also liked his television and Coca Colas. Clayton was an Eagle Scout and served as an officer in the Mississippi National Guard.

Visitation and memorial services will be held Saturday August 22, 2015 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. followed by services at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
