Obituary for Minnie John Hill

Minnie John  Hill
Minnie John Hill, 72, passed away at University Hospital in Jackson, MS on Friday, October 30, 2015. She was the daughter of Minnie Velma Russell Sweatt and John Garnett Sweat.

Minnie John obtained her Doctorate of Education degree from Mississippi State University. It was with that love for education that she taught 1st grade for over 30 years and continued that love into a role as Curriculum Coordinator for the Kosciusko School District. She was a member and former president of Delta Kappa Gamma, a society for key women educators. Minnie John was also a member of Kosciusko First Baptist Church. With her great faith, she served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher, as well as a church training leader. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, reading, cooking, as well as regular camping outings with friends. She was also a member of the "Friday Night Supper Club", where she dined with numerous friends regularly.

Minnie was married to her best friend, Charles Hill for over 53 years. Besides him, her surviving family consists of three sons, John, Patrick (Tina), and Paul (Amanda); several grandchildren, John, Hannah, Brennan, Emme Grace, Peyton, Miley, and Blainne (Toni); and two great grandchildren, Cadence and Avery.

Visitation for Minnie John is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Kosciusko, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.
