Dr. Howard Danny "Dan"  Cantwell
Dr. H. Cantwell DVM, MS Dip. A.C.V.R., passed away on April 14, 2016, due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Dr. Dan Cantwell was born to Ruth and Howard Cantwell of Indianapolis, IN, on November 20, 1946. Dr. Dan, as he was known to his friends, received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University in 1974. In 1990, he left his position as a radiologist at Purdue University to become the Hospital Director of both the Large and Small animal clinics at Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
He later became the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging Services and Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences. During his time at the university he loved teaching students about diagnostic imaging and medical logic. During his lifetime, Dr. Dan, a proud lifetime member of the NRA, was also a Free Mason of the 32nd degree in Indiana.
He is survived by his wife Anne, sister-in-law Lynn, his three daughters, Sara, Lauren and Ellen, and three grandchildren, Beckett, Anna, and Darby.
