Obituary for Virgil Norris Bolin

Virgil Norris  Bolin
Our brother in Christ, Virgil Norris Bolin, joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 23rd, 2016 from a lengthy battle with cancer. Mr. Bolin was 80 Years of age, and a resident of Starkville, MS.

Mr. Bolin was born on August 24, 1936 in Hickory Grove, MS to Frank & Mary Bolin. He is the brother of Baby Girl Bolin, Robert Bolin, Wayne Bolin and Marshall Bolin. He was married to Lynn Blankenship Bolin on October 31, 1956 at the Artesia Methodist Church. Mr. Bolin graduated from Brooksville High School where he was a gifted Football & Baseball Athlete. Mr. Bolin also attended Mississippi State University.

Mr. Bolin retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad after 44 years of dedicated service where he held positions as a Switchman and Conductor, before being promoted to Train Master. Mr. Bolin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He also proudly served the city he loved as a Starkville City Alderman.

Mr. Bolin is survived by his loving & devoted wife of 60 years, Mrs. Lynn Blankenship Bolin, along with his Children, Keith & Alexa Bolin, Kent & Cindy Bolin, Curt & Lisa Bolin Crissey, Darrell & Cristi Bolin. Mr. Bolin is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy & Liz Bolin, Brooke Bolin Smith, Steven Bolin, Christopher Crissey, Justin & Ashley Crissey Ray, Tyler Bolin, Elizabeth Crissey, Parker Bolin, Breck Bolin and Baylee Bolin, along with four Great Grandchildren, McCasland Ferguson, Montgomery Ferguson, Linley Bolin and Bear Bolin.

Mr. Bolin is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Mary Bolin, his sister (Baby Girl Bolin), his brothers Robert Bolin, Wayne Bolin and Marshall Bolin, and his daughter-in-law Sandi Linley Bolin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church located on University Drive in Starkville, MS, with the funeral mass immediately following. Graveside Service will be held immediately afterwards at Memorial Gardens.
