Obituary for Donald Wayne Walker

Donald Wayne  Walker
Donald Wayne Walker, 70, passed away on April 5, 2017 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was a retired police officer with Starkville Police Department and a member of Starkville Church of God. He loved deer hunting and was a man of God who loved his family. He was a man of service, serving in the Mississippi National Guard for 25 years and serving his community as a Starkville police officer for 25 years. He served his country in Vietnam & Desert Storm and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Lois Walker and Claudie Nabors Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Pridmore.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol Blasingame Walker of Starkville, MS; daughter, Rhonda Walker Stribling and husband Thomas (Bull) of Ackerman, MS; sons, Michael Walker of Ackerman, MS, and Donald Walker (Heather) of Starkville, MS; sister, Dorothy Sue Walker Pridmore of Columbus, MS; brother, Ollie Clayton Walker of Hamilton, MS; grandchildren, Kash and Molly Mae Stribling, Dixie and Donald Walker, Benjamin Walters, Lillie Lawson, Tiffany Holland, Taylor Carrithers; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Patricia Blasingame.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Starkville Church of God in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following. Rev. Jessie Duncan will conduct the service. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.
