Robert Terrel Buckelew, 76, passed away on April 5, 2017 at Holmes County Long Term Care Center in Durant, MS. He was born on October 25, 1940 in Ellisville, MS to Harmon and Carrie Buckelew, who have preceded him in death. He graduated from Jones County Agricultural High School and Mississippi State University, where he retired from MSU Campus Landscape.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Sue McKinley Buckelew; sister, Denise Buckelew McSwain; and brother, Curtis Edward Buckelew.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas Milton Buckelew and wife Debra of Raymond, MS, and Robert Bryan Buckelew and wife Christy of Maben, MS; sisters, Elma Buckelew Stone of Ellisville, MS, Mary Buckelew Bisping of Ellisville, MS, and Nell Buckelew Slade of Turnerville, AL; grandchildren, Suzanna Buckelew Johnson of Maben, MS, and Melanie Buckelew Grable of Starkville, MS; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday April 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, followed by the graveside at Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
