James Everette Speed, age 89, passed away on September 6, 2015 at his residence in Hickory Grove. He was a retired Electrical Technician with the Tennessee Pipe Line. A veteran of WWII that loved his family and enjoyed working on his farm until his death.


A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 8, 10 a.m. at the Curtis Chapel Cemetery.


James was survived by his wife, Lou K. Speed of Starkville and three sons: Mike Speed and his wife, Becky of Mantee, MS, Carl Speed of Starkville, and Byron Speed of Tuscaloosa, Alabama: three grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
