Ann Watkins  Sudduth
Ann Charlotte Watkins Sudduth passed peacefully from this life on November 14, 2021 in Starkville, MS.

Ann was born July 3, 1928 to James Edmond and Doella Leigh Barnett Watkins at their family home in Dixon, MS. She was the youngest of fourteen children. She graduated from the Mississippi State College for Women in 1950 with a degree in home economics. Her entire professional career was spent at the Mississippi Department of Public Welfare (now called the Mississippi Department of Human Service) helping children & families that struggled in difficult circumstances.

On August 28, 1949, she married Patterson Walker Sudduth. Together, they raised five children: Edd, Sally, John, Amy, and Jeff. She also served as the second mother to James Russell Dumas, Percy Dumas, and Susan Dumas Crain. Ann’s life was dedicated to family, which included not only her family, but also the families that she served through her work.

Ann is survived by her children: Edd Sudduth and his wife Mary, Sally Isaacs and her husband Mark, John Sudduth and his wife Tammy, Amy Bartlett and her husband Chuck, and Jeff Sudduth and his wife Missy; grandchildren: Justin Sudduth, Jordan Sudduth, Anna Isaacs, Jessica Ferguson, Rachel Chase, Kelly Beebe, Max Bartlett, Ben Bartlett, Bailey Li, and Morgan Sudduth; and great-grandchildren: Calee Vincent, Parker Chase, and Walker Bartlett.

She is preceded in death by her husband Pat, her parents, and her thirteen brothers and sisters.
