Catherine Courteney  Carter
Catherine Courteney Carter of Starkville, MS passed away on January 25th, 2019 at the age of 65. Catherine was the only daughter of Professor Gordon Carter and Ruth Carter who preceded her in death. She graduated from Starkville High School in 1971, and studied History at Mississippi State. Catherine was a gentle soul who lived a quiet life among her books. Despite suffering from lifelong anxiety disorders, she nurtured a love of classical music and art. She was most knowledgeable about many subjects, particularly flowers and gardens, and read constantly throughout her life. She is survived by her younger brother, Richard Gordon Carter, Jr of Houston, Texas, and by many cousins in the Hill and Carter families. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Oddfellows Cemetery.

Memorial services will be held at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS at 11:30 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019.
