Obituary for Cathy Roman

Cathy Jean Hendricks Roman, age 67, fought the good fight and finished the course laid out for her here on Earth on November 11, 2021. The passing of such a wonderfully-unique and incredibly-loving person will leave a void that cannot be filled. Cathy recently retired from The Lodge where she was the assistant manager.

To know her would be to also know that words will fall far short when attempting to paint a picture of such a delightfully unique person. But, to know her was to love her, and every little thing about her that made her so special. She was a very important part of the Family of Faith at Calvary Baptist Church where she will be sorely missed, especially by her Sunday School class, that in many ways, is as unique and special as she was. She was a devoted wife, an amazing mother, and Bulldog through and through #Hailstate. She loved music, people, and garage sale hopping. Clark and Cathy are perhaps best known in the Starkville community for turning their home into a virtual wonderland museum every Christmas and Halloween. She was full of life. That life came in the forms of laughter and love with generous helpings of sarcasm sprinkled in. To be with Cathy was to notice that you always enjoyed life a little more fully when you were with her than when you were not. Cathy was truly the spice of life. If Heaven can be more joyful, than it just became so.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Starkville, MS from 9:00 am – 10:30 am with the funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be in the Craig Springs Cemetery. Dr. Grant Arinder will officiate the services.

Cathy is survived by her husband Clark Roman of Starkville; sons, Jason Hendrick, Adam Roman, Cody & Amanda Roman, Ryan Roman, all of Starkville. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Catherine Lindsey Hendrick; brothers Chris Hendrick and Paul Hendrick.
