Condolence: Charlie was a special friend of whom I was very fond. Wow, I’m thinking football officiating, and children’s baseball. The somewhat crusty exterior clearly masked a large, warm heart. Thanks for many years of friendship. Blessings to your family. Sincerely, Larry Jones, Lexington, KY

Condolence: Gina, I played basketball at Starkville High in 68,69 and 70. Uncle Charlie drove the bus and all of us loved him so much. After graduation from college, when I would come home and run into him periodically, we would share a big hug and “catch up” with each other. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. We had some great teams back then and he was as much a part of my memories as the championships we won. He will always remain a beautiful memory in my heart. Praying for you and the rest of the family. Class of ‘70.

Condolence: No human being has gotten on a bus and taken more kids to more sports events than Charlie Thrasher. What a ministry he lived in his position as bus driver to Starkville High School games—-letting students eat on the way home and getting off the bus sometimes at midnight. One might think of his life work as modest; I have a lump in my throat thinking of the impact he made on young people. Toni Graves
