Claude Arney, 81, passed away on October 24, 2018 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed dancing, visiting with friends and the senior adult dinners at Friendship Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Arney and Viola Scarbrough Arney; and a brother, Marvin Arney.

He is survived by his children, Claude Arney, Jr. (Alecia), Nicole Fulgham, and Archie Arney, all of Starkville, MS; sisters, Shirley Hunt of Starkville, MS, Mavis Allen of West Point, MS, Faye Pearson of Sturgis, MS, and Mary Fortenberry of Philadelphia, MS; brothers, Pete Arney of Jackson, MS, Joe Arney of Starkville, MS, and Charles Arney of Sturgis, MS; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
