Obituary for Edgar Ivy Jr.
Edgar Ivy, Jr., 90, passed away on October 21, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. He was born on August 17, 1928, to Bessie and Robert Edgar Ivy.
He served his country in the Navy and was a retired member of the Mississippi Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maggie Bell Phillips Ivy. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He was survived by his three children: Suzie Shurden (Joe), Jeff Ivy, and Cliff Ivy (Judy). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 24, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Park.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
