Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edith Kent can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Edith Kent
Edith Kent 76, passed away at her residence on Friday February 12, 2021 from a brief battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1944 to Lonnie Lawrence and Mavis Maxine Price. She was a lifelong residence of Starkville, MS. and a lifelong member of Adaton Baptist Church. Edith was preceded in death by her father Lonnie Lawrence Price, mother Mavis Maxine Price, husband Sam Henry Kent and baby boy Tracey Lee Kent. She is survived by her brother Lawrence Cleatus Price of Starkville, MS, three children Sammy Lawrence Kent Sr. and daughter in law Marilyn Kent of Casa Grande, AZ, Michael Ervin Kent of Sturgis, MS, and Robin Janelle Kent of Starkville, Ms. Also, six grandchildren, Michael Ervin Kent Jr. of Sturgis, MS., Sammy Lawrence Kent Jr. of Mesa, AZ, Tracey Nicole Kent Silva of Surprise, AZ, Daniel Corey Kent of Eden TX, Samantha Leigh Kent of West Point, MS, and Candace Marie Vaughn of Starkville, MS., and nine great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who prayed for her family every day for their safety and the Lord’s Spiritual guidance. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Adaton Baptist Church with the funeral service immediately following at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Hal Selby officiating.
