Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edna Kennedy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Edna Prisock Kennedy

Edna Prisock Kennedy, 92, passed away on November 30, 2021 at Montgomery Gardens in Starkville, MS. She was a retired accountant with the Mississippi State University Extension Service. She was involved in the Starkville Church of God for over 70 years, as a teacher and mentor and a servant. Through life's challenges she remained steadfast in her faith. She was a great example of what it meant to live for Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Otis Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughters, Pat Bane Griffin (Wayne) of Starkville, MS and Joy Edwards Trevathan (Larry) of Madison, MS; son, Doyle Kennedy (Julia) of Madison, MS; seven grandchildren, Jill Switzer, Kevin Kennedy, Craig Bane, Nikki Butler, Stephanie Shumaker, Jonathan Edwards, and Michael Edwards; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother, Marion (Buddy) Prisock of Vidor, TX.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 3, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Starkville Church of God, with the funeral service immediately following. Rev. Glenn Kennedy and Rev. Dennis Laughlin will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Montgomery Gardens for their loving care during her tenure there.
