Obituary for Eunice Nan Conerly Craig

Eunice Nan Conerly Craig, age 78, passed away at her residence in Starkville, MS on January 6, 2019.

Eunice was a retired teacher from Auburn High School in Auburn, Alabama. She loved the Mississippi State Bulldogs and was an avid supporter of MSU Baseball. Eunice loved the Methodist Church where she faithfully taught Sunday school for the 2-year old children for several years. Most of her life was spent as an educator because of her love for young people. She enjoyed tennis and relaxing at the beach. As important as these all were, her greatest asset was her love for her family, being a devoted mother, and serving as a wonderful wife.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the First Methodist Church in Starkville, MS at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 p.m.

Eunice is survived by her husband of 27 years, Bob Craig of Starkville, MS; son, Jay Milton of Houston, TX; daughter, Connie Mayts ( Andy) of Tampa, FL; step children, Lee Ann Fowler (Ken) of Franklin, TN and Brian Craig (Julie) of Milton, GA; grandchildren, Courtney Fowler Cox, Jackson Milton, Joseph Milton, Jessica Mayts, Cassidy Fowler, Drew Mayts, Kylie Craig, Tyler Mayts; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tyler S. Conerly and Jessie Day Ball Conerly and brother, Simmons Conerly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either St. Jude Children Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or the Bulldog Club, P.O. BT, Mississippi State, MS 39762.
