Evelyn "Dinky" Dean  Smith
Evelyn "Dinky" Dean Smith, 76, passed away on January 5, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. She was a homemaker and member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville. She loved reading, cooking and her cat. Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and had a gentle, beautiful soul, a true lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Presley Dean and Zedie Bell Allen Dean; son, John Allen Smith; and sister, Doris Hedrick Bounds.

She is survived by her husband, William Leonard Smith of Sturgis, MS; daughter, Donna Smith Conly (Ken) of Houston, TX; son, Larry Wayne Smith (Tina) of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Joshua Reams, Jennifer Reams, Sam Conly, and Ben Conly; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Bobbie Taylor of Pulaski, MS.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville. Rev. Jason Middleton will conduct the service. Burial will be in Craig Springs Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
