Obituary for Garner G. Morgan

Garner G.  Morgan
Garner G. Morgan, 84, passed away on January 9, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. He was retired from the Navy, where he was a Korean War veteran and a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Morgan Chapel Baptist Church and also was an avid gardener, farmer, hunter, fisherman, sports lover and loved history.

He was preceded in death by wife, Jackie Crowson Morgan; and his parents, Frank and Lecta Maude Jackson Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ann Smith Redd Morgan of Bogue Chitto, MS; sons, Keith Morgan, and Kyle Morgan (Amy) of Sturgis, MS, and Kirk Morgan (Dayna) of Philadelphia, MS, Tim Redd, Jeff Redd (Pennie), and Chris Redd (Shirley), all of Bogue Chitto, MS; daughters, Denise Redd Cain (Stefan) of Bogue Chitto, MS and Tammy Redd Williford (Billy) of Madison, MS; brother, Frank LaDell Morgan of Sturgis, MS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS and on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church, with the funeral service immediately following. Rev. Ben Yarber and Rev. Robin Risher will conduct the service. Burial will be in Morgan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to: Baptist Children's Village in Jackson, MS or French Camp Academy in French Camp, MS.
