Condolence: Dear Joanne, Karilyn, and Kevin--

Please know that we love you and that we will always have Ed in our hearts and great memories--
Ed was one of the kindest and one of the most valiant individuals that I have ever known.

I will never forget Ed in the driveway, Ed in the RV, Ed at the mailbox....talking and laughing with my dad.

Even though we are not there, we are with you in mind and spirt-

Love always,
Becky Beattie

Condolence: So sorry to learn Ed has passed as I have the highest regard for him—he was a truly great man. I met Ed sixty years ago as fellow freshmen at MSU. We were the two tallest members of the Maroon Guard Drill Team so we were positioned next to each other. We were together in ROTC for four wonderful years. Ed could always be depended on as a friend and I am blessed by my memories of those years together. I last got to visit with Ed a couple years ago at The Hump before a game.

Condolence: I had the privilege of working for Ed as a young man just out of college, not yet realizing how much I needed to learn. He took me under his wing, and by example, taught me the kind of person someone should be. He wasn’t just a boss, but a mentor, and a friend. The perfect mixture of boss, father figure, grandad, and cool uncle, all rolled into one. One of the wisest men I’ll ever know. This space isn’t enough to list the things I learned from Ed - about life, people, work, and God. I have told many people of the first rule of working for him: “everyone must do right.” Ed always followed his rule; he was the example I hope I can be to others. With his passing, his family lost a husband and father, the world lost a great man, and I, along with many others, lost a cherished friend. My condolences to JoAnn and the family, Ed will be missed and never forgotten.

Condolence: Ed will be remembered for many things, but mostly for the beautiful force of his spirit and his love of the Lord. We will miss him greatly.

Condolence: Cyndi and I send our love and condolences. We spent yesterday evening sharing "Uncle Ed" stories.
He was a giant of a man in so many ways besides his height.
