Helen Brewer Bostick Burleson, age 78, passed away at the Oktibbeha County Memorial Hospital on August 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. Helen retired from the Property Control Division at Mississippi State University. She loved family, fishing, thrift shopping, and especially her dogs.


Visitation service will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS with the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Owens Cemetery in Hamilton, MS. The Reverend Dan Robertson will officiate.


Helen is survived by her daughters, Joyce K. Bostick of Starkville, Teresa L. Owens of Hamilton, MS, Sharon S. Bostick of Collins, MS and son, Dewey L. Bostick, Jr. of Starkville; sisters, Evelyn Beach, Shirley Sullivan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burleson and father, Bennie A. Brewer and mother, Mary Jane Avritt Brewer, brother, Bennie E. Brewer, and sister, Margaret Manning.
