Obituary for James Edwin "Eddie" Buckner

James Edwin "Eddie" Buckner
James Edwin “Eddie” Buckner, 72 years of age, native of Starkville, MS, passed away peacefully in his home on December 6, 2018. He was born January 29, 1946 to the late James and Louvene (Reed) Buckner.
He was a beloved man by all who knew him. Some may even say he was a jack-of-all-trades or even a real-life McGyver. Eddie enjoyed a days worth of hard work, fixing anything that was broken, and helping others. However, he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren most of all. He was a man who never stopped finding ways to support others around him. He did these acts not out of greed but out of the deep love and joy he seemed to have an endless abundance of. Eddie is truly a man worthy of respect, honor, and reverance. He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Louvene Buckner, and his brother Robert Buckner.

He is survived by his brother Larry Buckner, and sisters Lynn Stewart and Patricia Kay Buckner. His son Lance Edwin Buckner, daughter Kimberly Ann Massey, grandchildren LaJenna Coker, Taylor Steadman, Linzie Meyers, Sydney Mikhala Gazaway, Ashton James Thompson, Logan Micheal Edwards, Ava Gracelynn Massey. Great grandchildren Elijah Starks, Ariya Starks, and Ariana Meyers.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following.
