Obituary for John "Bully" D Hollis

John D “Bully” Hollis, age 93, passed away at the OCH Regional Medical Center on January 15, 2022. John was a retired owner of Hollis Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a Korean War Veteran and loved the outdoors and watching football.

Visitation will be held at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville from 12-1 on Tuesday, January 18 with a graveside service at 2 in the Bethel Cemetery in Choctaw County.

John is survived by 2 sons, Jeff Hollis of Starkville and Daniel Hollis of Starkville; daughter, Jennifer Hollis Pederson (John) of Starkville; brother, Grady Hollis of Starkville; sister, Lonnie Cox of Jackson; grandchildren Josh and Jonny Hollis: and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt Hollis and Mae Hollis; his wife, Norene Hollis: brothers, Jake Hollis, E.J. Hollis, and Witt Hollis; sisters, Shirley Fay Hollis, and Bertie Simpson.
