John Grover Taylor, Jr.

STARKVILLE – John Grover Taylor, Jr., 102, died January 31, 2019, at his home. He was born December 22, 1916 in Houston, MS, the son of J. Grover and Oda E. (Bennett) Taylor.
Grover graduated from Meridian High School and later at Mississippi State where he was a professor of Engineering Graphics, teaching from 1953 until 1982 when he retired as Professor Emeritus.
He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Kidder) Taylor, his parents, and his sisters, Helon and Marjorie. Surviving are his daughter Judy Norwood and her husband, Joe of Greenville, his son, John Taylor and his wife, Martha of Southlake, TX; four grandchildren, Brad Norwood of Horn Lake, MS, Andrew Norwood of North Branch, MN, Charlotte Guest of Minot ND, Forrest Taylor of Beavercreek, OH; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 12:00pm-1:00pm at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville with a graveside service at 1:30 at Memorial Garden Park.
