Gary Tarleton

I grew up across the street from “ Big Daddy” and I can’t began to tell you how much he helped me, my family and countless other people. There were many late nights that Larry helped me with my homework. Larry was a very intelligent, caring, and generous man. I reached out to Larry a couple of months ago and I am so glad I did. I spent many hours at Larry’s house along with Larry’s Dad who we called Hipeye , short for hippie with his long hair. Barney/Hipeye gave us all nick names that spent many Friday nights playing spades or dominos.Barney gave me the nick name JJ which stuck with me all through high school. It stood for jolly jumper, Barney and I were watching the Price is Right and they had a grown man sitting in a large jolly jumper that was used in those days to rock a baby to sleep. Barney looked at me and said, that is you, I am going to call you JJ because you can’t sit still. It stuck like glue. I loved Larry and Barney like family. I have pictures of both of them on my digital picture frame, you know , the digital picture frames where you put all your pics on a thumb drive so you can watch your whole life go by in two hours. RIP Larry, you were special! Gary Tarleton
