Marguerite Houlditch Breland, age 102, passed away on July 20, 2020, at Trinity Personal Care in Columbus, Mississippi. She was born July 29, 1917 in Montgomery, Alabama to Louie and Estelle Bowman Houlditch. Marguerite graduated from Dixie High School at Toomsuba, Mississippi, in 1935. After high school, she studied Dramatics at McLyn School of Expression in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1937 she moved to Macon, Mississippi, where she taught speech and expression. Marguerite served as Noxubee County Library Director for 16 years, 1965 to 1981. In 1965 she became interested in Doll Restoration. She restored and dressed antique dolls for over 50 years. She was a member of the National Doll Restoration Society. She was a member of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution for 44 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church, West Point, Mississippi.

Marguerite is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Breland, Sr., her parents, her brother, Owen T. Houlditch, and sons-in-law, Glenn Worley and Bill Roberts.

She is survived by her three children, Thomas A. Breland, Jr. (Claire), Jacqueline Breland Worley, and Rita Breland Stuart (Ed); six grandchildren, Gina Breland Holland, Tina Roberts Reid (Eron), Jackie Breland White (Keith), Lara Worley (Ryan Hansen), Tiffany Roberts Herrick (Wayne) and Bryant Worley (Lauren Daniels); and great grandchildren, Zach Holland, Alaina Holland, Brenna Holland, Nolan White, Chase White and Chase Reid.

Graveside services for family only will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville, Mississippi.
