Obituary for Michael Stein Hunt

Michael Stein Hunt, 69, of Clinton, MS, went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2019 at home surrounded by love ones. Born, January 13, 1950, in Louisville, Winston County, but was raised in Ackerman, MS. On 23 November 1973, Michael was married Marcia O'Keefe, in Winona, MS. The youngest of five siblings, he graduated from Moss Point, MS, high school, 1968, received a B.S. in Business from Mississippi State Univ., 1972, and a master’s degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, 1975. He was a Southern Baptist minister and also served as a Chaplain, Lt. Commander, in the U.S. Navy and in the active reserve.

He is survived by his daughter, Natasha Vanessa Hunt, Clinton, MS, brothers, Allen D. (Vickie) Hunt, Fountain Hills, AZ, Billy M. (Cheryl) Hunt, Columbus, Ohio, sister, Betty (Norman) Jardine, Moss Point, MS, loving nieces and nephews, extended family and long-time friends, Barry Lassiter and Donald Nixon, Moss Point, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia O’Keefe Hunt, his parents, Allen F. and Gassie C. (Oswalt) Hunt, Sturgis, MS, brother, Kenneth C. Hunt and wife, E. Joyce (Hetzel) Hunt, Myrtle Beach, S.C., mother-in-law, Ila Mae O'Keefe, Winona. MS.

A dedicated servant to his Lord and following His instructions to "spread the word worldwide, the second coming of Christ is at hand," he started a ministry group on Facebook, "Sound the Trumpet," ultimately with worldwide following that continues today.

Special thanks to Sta-Home Hospice, Clinton, MS and Grace Professional Home Care, Flowood, MS, for their loving care and attention. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home @2 p.m. in Starkville, MS. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sturgis, MS The Rev. Bradford Hodges will officiate the services.
