Naweta Vee  Reed
Naweta Vee Reed of Sturgis, Mississippi passed away at home on Dec 14, 2021 at the age of 82 . She was the widow of Lloyd Cecil Reed, whom she shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with.

She was an active, lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Naweta was a skilled seamstress who could make everything from wedding gowns and cheerleading uniforms to pillows and window treatments. There was no project too big for her to handle. She loved her family fiercely and was always present for children, grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for how well she loved and served her friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Hightower (Bruce) and Gary Reed (Marsha), her grandchildren, Allison Moffett,Tyler Bland (Aleia), and Kayla Brown (Jarred), and her great-grandchildren, Emma Moffett, Maybree Bland, and Bryson Bland, and her sister, Diane Douglas (Ronnie), and her sister-in-law, Pearlene McCoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Llyod Cecil Reed, her parents, Annie Vee and Hartman Miller, and her brother, Elvis Miller.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS with the graveside service following at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Bradley, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Fund.
