Obituary for Peggy Jean McCormick Fondren

Peggy Jean McCormick Fondren
Peggy Jean McCormick Fondren went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 87 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Edsel Fondren

She is survived by her sons, John Fondren (Lisa) of Baconton, GA, and Jim Fondren (Sharon) of Heflin, La.; and two grandchildren, Craig Fondren (Ashley), and Clinton Fondren; eight grandchildren, Ciara, Abby, Aden, Jameson, Mason, Avery, Evie, and Lincoln Fondren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is remembered as a devoted wife and mother, as well as a faithful, serving Christian and friend. She never forgot kind words and letters and gifts for her grandchildren and loved ones. She was a common fixture on the piano bench at church and very rarely missed worshipping the Lord.

We as a family are so blessed to have been raised in a devoted Christian family by parents that loved us unselfishly. A Godly example is the memory we will most cherish.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Blythe Creek Cemetery in Mathiston, MS. Rev. Bill Lee will conduct the service.
