PRUDE PRISOCK

At the age of 70, Samuel Prude Prisock gave his heart to the Lord. At age 75, on October 24, 2018, he went Home to be with his Lord and Savior. Prude was born August 8, 1943, to Erskin and Velma Scarbrough Prisock. He grew up in Starkville and graduated from Starkville High School. He went on to pursue a trade in welding and pipefitting, working for the Warren Kleban Company. His expertise qualified him to join the U.S. Navy Seabees in 1968, and he served his country as a Seabee in Vietnam. After his military tenure, he became self employed, building houses with his brother, Wayne. He also owned Rebecca's Carpets and P & M One Stop at Adaton. In 2003, he decided to go back to his original occupation, construction, until his retirement in 2011. He loved gardening. His massive garden was at the corner of highway 182 and the highway 25 bypass. Neighbors and friends benefited from the fruits of his labor. He would gather vegetables and go around the neighborhood offering what he had picked and would also invite friends to come pick everything that was abundant.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Hicks Prisock; his two daughters, Lynn Prisock of Starkville, MS and Cristy Prisock of Denver, CO; one grandson, Tre Bereit, also of Denver, CO; his sister-in-law, Ellen Prisock, and her children, Stephanie Nix and her husband Rick and son Steven Prisock and his wife, Keely and their daughter Veronica, all of Madison, MS. He is also survived by several cousins and an aunt, Frances Coleman Prisock. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Adaton Baptist Church on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Hal Selby officiating. A graveside military service will immediately follow at Craig Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials be sent to Adaton Baptist Church Children's Ministry or The Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.
