The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert "Bobby" McClelland can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Robert "Bobby" McClelland

Robert "Bobby"  McClelland
Robert "Bobby" McClelland, 72, passed away on October 26, 2020 at his residence in Sturgis, MS.
A lifelong resident of Sturgis, Mr. McClelland had retired after 40 years of education.
During that time, he held many titles such as, teacher, coach, and principal. He was also
retired from the Mississippi National Guard after 27 years as a Major. He served 10 years on the OCEDA board representing District 4 in Oktibbeha county.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benjamin McClelland; his mother,
Catherine Wilma McClelland; and his two brothers, Donald Glynn McClelland and Ronald Lynn McClelland.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Margaret; two children, Christopher McClelland of Ocala, FL and Kristin Hollis (Will Hollis) of Ackerman, MS; six grandchildren, Kaelen Jaims, Maylee Hollis, Ashlen McClelland, Kara Hollis, Charleigh Hollis, and Riggins Hollis; his two sisters, Elaine Reed (Joel Reed) of Starkville, MS and Deborah Chance of Dekalb, MS.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 31, 2020 at McClelland Cemetery on Craig Springs Rd.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial of your choice may be made to the McClelland Cemetery Fund, Sturgis Baptist Church building fund, Operation Christmas Child, or Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
