Obituary for William Lavelle Coleman
William Lavelle Coleman, 85, of Sturgis, MS, went to be with his Lord on December 26, 2022. He was born in 1937 in Sturgis, MS to William and Eula Mae Coleman of
Sturgis, MS.
In 1956, he married his one true love, Florene Allen. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, MS. William worked at Bryan Brothers in West Point, MS for 42 years as a supervisor in the bacon department and he also worked for East Mississippi Lumber Company in Starkville for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eula Mae Coleman.
William was survived by his wife of 65 years, Florene Allen Coleman; four children, Mike Coleman (Janet) of Nashville, TN, Judy Wolanek of Sturgis, MS, Marsha Butler (David) of Sturgis, MS, and Rodney Coleman (Rhonda) of Sturgis, MS; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Meadowview Baptist Church, 300 Linden Circle, Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following. Brother Jason Middleton will conduct the service. Burial will be in Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Meadowview Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Coleman.
