Walter A. Wood, 83, passed away at his residence in Maben, MS on August 27, 2014. He was the retired owner of WW Distributors and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Wood.

His is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Manning of Maben, MS; sons, Tommy Wood of Maben, MS, Stanley Wood (Laurene) of Greenville, MS and Kenneth Wood (Teresa) of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Regina Williams of Clarksdale, MS; brothers, Donald Wood of Clarksdale, MS, Jack Wood of Houston, TX and Johnny Wood of Baltimore, MD; nine grand and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Wood is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Maben, with the funeral immediately following in the church sanctuary. Rev. Randle Poss and Rev. Tommy Temple will conduct the service. Burial will be in Maben Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
