Heather, Frank, Reed, Holly & Bucky It is hard to believe that a year has passed since we lost Mildred to an untimely death. I think of her daily and have her most recent pictures in our California home. The last time I saw her was in San Francisco, at the Mark Hopking Hotel. She and her dear friend, Lynn had traveled from their Starkville home to begin a cruise ship trip to Hawaii. She was excited to visit Hawaii again and share the trip with her friend, both avid travelers. We kept in touch and I know that she would be pleased to know that my husband, Paul, and I were able to meet, for a first time, her only grandchild, Reed and also his dad. Reed is a delightful young man and Mildred was his last grandparent, thus, I offered to be his surrogate nana. We have had a delightful relationship, after our first meeting, via texts, emails, phone calls and snail mail. A great continuation through him extending my life long relation with my sister, his nana. My thoughts are with her family as we light candles, read poetry, retell funny and happy stories tomorrow on this first anniversary of a great loss that had left a large void in our hearts. Hugs and Blessings to the family. Peggy Blankenship
