Michael Dwain Bruce born January 30th 1964 died at his home in Starkville on May 31st 2015 after a brief illness.

Michael affectionately known to his friends as MB graduated from Starkville High School in 1982. He obtained a bachelor's degree in business from Mississippi State University in 1988. MB was much loved by many friends all over the country and was an avid Grateful Dead fan. He loved all music. But most of all MB was a Mississippi State Bulldogs fan. He was maroon and white through and through.

He was preceded in death by his father Sanford O. Bruce Sr.; a brother Sanford 0 Bruce Jr. and his much cherished Australian Shepherd Freedom.

He is survived by his mother Della Bright Bruce of Starkville; a brother, Don Bruce (Peggy) of Madison MS; two sisters, Sandra Bruce Highers (Alan) of Henderson TN and Deborah Bruce Hurst (George) of Hernando MS; a beloved aunt, Nan Nelle Gillis of Starkville MS; nine nieces and nephews; his beloved Labradoodle, Spirit; and too many friends to number.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Livingston of Memphis TN Chip Carly of Houston TX, Gregg Baggett of Ocean Springs MS Craig Carter of Jackson MS Carl Jacks of Starkville and Trey Bruce of Meridian CT.

Visitation for Mr. Bruce is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
