Condolence: We are so very sorry to hear of Dr. Carpenter's passing. This will be a huge loss to Starkville, and to thousands across the nation whose lives he has impacted, including me with a part time job over 25 years ago! Peace to Mrs. Carpenter and the entire Carpenter family.

Condolence: Such sad news to hear of the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We think of him as a sweet, gentle, humble man even when he served as the director of MCES. Our special memory of Jamie is stopping to talk with him and Ressie on our walks in Green Oaks. May God give you comfort and peace as you grieve your loss. We are so sorry.

Condolence: Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. A friend, who went to State many years after we were there remembered that we knew you all, called earlier tonight to share with us that Jamie had died. We have such happy memories of our years at Mississippi State and our "supper club" in particular. We will continue to be in prayer for you in the days ahead. Jamie was such a special man. Love to you, Joyem

Condolence: I first met Jamie in about 1976. I was by taken his easy smile and mild demeanor. As I met more of the family, I was impressed with the way that he welcomed me and by his open and obvious love for his family. Those that I knew best, Kelly and Chris were very open about their love and respect for their daddy.

I was blessed to have had the opportunity to spend the day with Jamie and Ressie this spring and to be reminded how open and welcoming he was. Jamie will be remembered for his kind demeanor, gentle nature and easy smile. He was a true southern gentleman.
.
My thoughts and prayers are with Ressie, Cris and all of the family.

Condolence: We express our prayers and send our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Jamie modeled the Christian life of "service to others". Countless people around the world benefitted from his life of serving, friendship and love. Our prayers are that the storehouse full of loving memories of Jamie's love, service and friendship will solace in this time of sorrow and turn to celebration of the life of service that Jamie lived.
Come to see us in Huntsville.
Love, Grant & Alma

Condolence: My prayers are extended to the family. While working many years in banking in Starkville I had the pleasure of calling Jamie "friend". He was always kind to me, very congenial to me, always. It's always sad to lose friends. My very best to the family.
