Obituary for John Dyle "J.D." Monts Jr.

J.D. Monts, Jr. 82 of Maben Ms. Passed away September 11, 2015 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Monts was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mathiston, Ms he also served his country in the Navy on the USS MT McKinley, he was also the plant manager @ Moody's for 30,years and a logger for more than 25 years. His hobbies included gardening, working in the shop, showing horses with his girls with the Mathiston Bit & Spur Assoc., fixing up his Mack truck., playing with his grandchildren and great grand children ,he also loved to work everyday and did so till the day of his passing.

J.D. was preceded in death by his parents John Dyle Sr. and Helen Monts, Brothers: Grady Monts and Thurman Monts, Sister: Bernice Simmons.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Shirley Monts-Maben, Daughters: Debbie (Kenny) Rivers-Maben, Sandra (Mark) Taylor- Maben, Grand Sons: Toby Bigham- Mantee, Wayne ( Melody) Monts-Maben Joel (Brittany) Taylor-Maben, Kaleb (Ellen) Taylor-Maben, 5 Great Grand Children Ainsley & Holly Bigham, James Monts, Anna Leigh Taylor, Rylan Taylor all of Maben.

Services are Visitation Tonight from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the Welch Funeral Home in Maben. Service's will Be Monday September 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church Of Mathiston, with the Rev. Wade Stevens and Bro. Carl Nickels Officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
