Anna Marie Shurden age 86, of Athens, AL; passed away March 23, 2016 at her residence.

She was born July 27, 1929 in Durham, NC to Winston and Norvella Upchurch. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading Guide Posts and the Upper Room. She enjoyed gospel music, especially the Gaithers. She loved her dogs and cats, old country music and reality T.V.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one son Joe Green.

She is survived by three sons George Green of Richmond, VA; Greg Jeffreys and wife Michelle of Horn Lake, MS; Bobby Jeffreys of Huntsville, AL; three daughters Linda Gregg and husband Thomas of Houston, TX; Susan Sandlin and husband Jody of Houston, TX; Lisa McMahan and husband Wayne of Athens, AL; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be George Green, Greg Jeffreys, Wayne McMahan, Jody Sandlin, Jeremy Dawkins, and Andy Dawkins.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Thomas Gregg.

Services will be in Starkville, MS at Welch Funeral Home on Saturday March 26, 2016 at 12 P.M.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Starkville, Mississippi.
