Condolences

Condolence From: DeLynn Gray Willard
Condolence: My sincerest condolences on the loss of Mr. Buck. I can not remember a time in my life I did not know him. He was always talking with Daddy while playing, picking on me and then my daughters. He always had a smile and was such a wonderful person as was your Mother. My life was blessed by knowing such good people. May God bless all of you.

Condolence: Mr. Buck will surely be missed. I remember many days seeing him at my daddy's shop when they both were still able to do their wood working. I'm sure they are reminiscing and sitting on a piece of their handcrafted furniture now, all smiles.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of Buck Swains passing . I came to Starkville in September of 1974 to open my first McDonalds on hwy.12. In getting ready to open that restaurant, in March 1975 and I needed to have someone provide us with lettuce, tomatoes, onions. That need allowed me to meet Mr.Buck Swain! From that first meeting and to have him and his son Butch deliver those items two times a week to the store Buck Swain was a very warm, sincere, honest, caring man. Buck always asked how my business was doing. He was one of those special people who truly cared about his fellow man. Pat and I want to express our deepest sympathy to his family.Bill and Pat Cunningham

Condolence From: Ron and Sue Snow
Condolence: We are fondly remembering those years when we lived at the end of your parents' street in Greenoaks. When I would be out walking I would often see your dad in his yard and stop to visit. Our youngest loved to stop in to see him. He would tell us he had been be to see "Mr. Buck Salads". Those were happy times. Think of you. Sue

Condolence: Patsy, Ryan, Amy, and Family,

Buck's friendship has been a special blessing in my life. A "Buck Swain Swing" was one of my first purchases in Starkville over 20 years ago. Since then, every time I walk through the house or look out a window I am reminded of my good friend Buck Swain. After Larry and I were married, Buck made sure we had everything we needed to rock, swing, or just sit and look out over the Tenn Tom Waterway... And I remember the Christmas visits with Pam Jones, we would have the peanut and pecan brittle eaten before we got out of the neighborhood.
Buck surely loved his family. It has been a pleasure to meet so many of you through the years... And how proud he was when he announced Ryan and Amy were opening a business together... It was great spending time with you at Carrington listening to Buck tell stories, as only he could do, about the family he loved.
So many special memories... A very special friend... Thank you for sharing Buck Swain with all of us!

We love you,
Sharon and Larry

Condolence From: Judy Moody
Condolence: I first knew Mr. Swain on Overstreet Drive. The Buck Salads trucks left the Swain home there to deliver the product. Butch and the girls were in school with my sister and me. We meet again when we returned to Starkville. He would bring his wife to the beauty shop and sit with her until she was finished. We later commissioned a glider from him. He was one of those Starkville characters that was always around and always contributing. Rest in peace Mr. Swain.
