Obituary for Steve George Madar

Steve George Madar, age 86, passed away on August 18, 2016 at the OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, Mississippi. Steve was a retired shipping and receiving manager for Ford Glass in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a member of United Auto Workers, served in the Korean War, and loved to fish and hunt.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow. Burial will be Thursday, August 25 in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 11 a.m.

Steve is survived by a son, Steven Keith Madar of Starkville; brother, Andrew Steve Madar of Des Arc, AR; daughters, Cheryl Ward (John) of Lees Summit, MO, and Julie Willie (Brent) of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Drew Ward, Lindsey Middleton, Ella Elwood (Cameron), and Grant Willie; great grandchild, Alyssa Klecka; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mae Madar; parents, Valent Joseph Madar and Mary (Maria) Lisko; siblings, Veronica Fischer, Mary Pitonyak, Rose Bluerock, Joseph Carl Madar, John James Madar, and Paul John Madar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 5573, c/o Jack Cook, 406 South Jackson Street, Starkville, MS 39759.
