Jimmie Reed Ray Smith, 76, passed away on May 18, 2011 at The Carrington in Starkville, MS. She was retired from Gulf States and a member of Meadowview Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved the Lord and was always ready to serve Him. She was also a member of Bradley’s Homemaker Club.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wesley Smith of Starkville; daughters, Judy Smith Sanders (Thad) of Monroe, LA and Nancy Smith Trainor (Greg) of Starkville; sons, Charles Wesley Smith (Monika) of Meridian, MS; sisters, June Ray Cooper of Jackson, MS and Linda Bonney of Long Beach, MS; grandchildren, Shelly Sanders Eason (Kevin), Bob Sanders (Katie), Elizabeth Trainor and Bill Trainor; and great grandchildren, Reed and Emmie Eason.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 20th from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 21st at 10 a.m. at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville. Rev. Jason Middleton will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Park Cemetery.
